Flossyville

Flossyville is an ongoing narrative drawing project which focuses on various characters in the made up town of Flossyville. Though drawn in a cute and light manner, there is something off and sometimes downright perturbing about the events unfolding in this town. I hope to greatly elaborate on this project in the future.

These paintings revolve around photographic scenes from my childhood spliced and blurred together. They attempt to explore social and cultural conditioning, and how those issues affect gender identity. Through colour and composition I explore how it feels to be there, but on a different level.

I AM School

I AM School

Inter-American School is a private elementary school I attended in the Dominican Republic in my childhood; these portraits are based on children in my yearbook. The upper class society there has a very strict sense of gender roles as well as a tendency to coddle their children far too long. These portraits exaggerate the ill effects their society constructs cause their children.

Bleekly's Birds

I created this short story for a Mass Communications project where we had to address mass marketing as well as mass production/consumption. I decided to do so in a mock children's story style, and set the scene in a very desolate future.
